Hi, I’m Zuly, and I’m passionate about creating spaces for healing that honor your story, your identity, and your unique journey. My work as a therapist is deeply shaped by my background as a professional opera singer, educator, and cultural advocate, as well as my training in trauma-informed care and somatic techniques like The Resilience Toolkit by Nkem Ndefo. I integrate evidence-based practices with holistic functional care to meet your individual needs, helping you connect with your authentic self and build the tools for a fulfilling and balanced life.
As a first-generation college graduate from the Dominican Republic and a native Spanish speaker, I understand the complexities of navigating intersecting identities and the unique challenges that come with them. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish, ensuring that language and cultural connection are never barriers to the care you deserve.
My specializations include supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, imposter syndrome, burnout, identity formation, migration, and transracial adoption. I also provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space for addressing sex-related mental and emotional health concerns. My approach is rooted in decoloniality, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and creative expression, which I blend with more traditional therapeutic modalities to create a deeply personalized and effective experience.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked extensively with BIPOC communities aka People of the Global Majority, LGBTQIA+ individuals, artists, executive leaders, and those navigating systemic inequities. I’m particularly passionate about helping clients who are managing high-pressure careers or creative pursuits find balance and purpose. My own experiences in the performing arts and cultural advocacy have taught me the importance of addressing performance anxiety and imposter syndrome through a holistic and strengths-based lens.
Beyond therapy, I’ve dedicated much of my life to initiatives that bridge artistry and social justice. I’m the founder of the Afro-Latinx Song & Opera Project and also guide programming at Instituto Cimarrón, an organization dedicated to uplifting marginalized voices in the arts and culture.
Whether we’re working together individually, as a couple, or in a group setting, my goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered. I truly believe that embracing your cultural and creative identity is a powerful pathway to freedom, self-discovery, and lasting change.
If you’re looking for a therapist who integrates evidence-based practice with holistic care and understands the nuances of cultural and personal identity, I’d be honored to walk with you on your journey. Let’s explore the ways we can work together to create a life rooted in purpose, joy, and authenticity.
