Hi, I’m grateful that you’re here! My name is Olivia, I also like being called Liv. I’m a born and raised in Pennsylvania queer cis-white woman. I’m currently a counseling intern working towards my Masters Degree. Having found home at Transitional Characters, it's my honor to continue practicing here after graduation in December 2024 as a full-time counselor.
I believe in therapy that is collaborative and growth-fostering, where bonding together in genuine connection creates shared courage to challenge the internal and external conditions that no longer serve us. As a forever-aspiring healer, my hope is that my gift of authentic warmth, compassion, empathy, and down-to-earth way of nurturing helps you flourish your life with meaningful abundance. I also see my healing role inseparable from the call to recognize and tend to the somatic and spirit wounds of generational and current traumas caused by oppressive systems. I’m here to honor you and your experiences, to hold space for all joy and sorrow that comes with remembering, to reclaim your sense of safety, dignity, and belonging. By intentionally opening to the here and now, we’ll bridge into the history of you, told by the body and lineage to weave a thicker web of insight and wisdom to heal from the roots.
My passion for mutual aid, holistic wellbeing, and collective liberation supports my own integrative and decolonial approach, which is compassion-focused, trauma-informed and a mixture of Liberation Psychology, feminist, mindfulness, relational-cultural, somatic therapies, expressive arts, DBT, ACT, and parts-work (IFS). My love for literature and study of critical race, ecological, and queer theory also informs my practice. I love seeing partnered individuals for attachment-based EFT work, especially in ENM, poly and other nontraditional relationships. With my vast experience working in acute mental health settings, I also greatly enjoy supporting those who experience suicidality, grief, depression, loss of meaning, or have had recent mental health hospitalization(s).
I prioritize cultivating kinship with the natural world. If I’m not reading about ethnobotany or tending to my garden and houseplants, I may be walking around outside identifying local plants for my next magical herbalism practice. I’m guided by the Earth and Moon to travel through the changing seasons and phases of transformation. At home I’m usually breathing fresh energy into my spaces by decorating, creating art, and listening to music. I’m always finding new ways to love and enrich my two cats, Lenny and Finch.
Until I take insurance in December, many people I see self-pay on an affordable sliding scale based on level of financial privilege. Pro bono may be an option, especially for those active in the pursuit of liberation and whose identities are historically marginalized.
