Hey there! My name is Alecia Ott & I handle everything except the psychotherapy itself at Transitional Characters. I am grateful to have a role in connecting folks to excellent care and look forward to supporting you in your initial steps towards therapy.

A bit about me: I’ve worked in reproductive & sexual health/justice for the past 18 years, with a particular focus in abortion care. I have spent time as a clinic escort, sex ed teacher, abortion doula, & options counselor over the years. I was a year-long acompañante with Fondo MARIA in Mexico City & co-captain/crew on the Women on Waves sailboat during their Guatemalan & Mexican abortion access campaigns. I have extensive experience supporting folks with self managed abortions.

Last year I turned my van into a mobile mutual aid resource called The Auto(nomous) Body Shop, and I am always available if you are pregnant and don’t want to be. I keep our office stocked with free emergency contraception, condoms, pregnancy tests, Narcan, fentanyl/xylazine test strips, and more. If you need any of these resources, they are available to you whether you are a client here or not!

It is important to me to create spaces where folks can share their stories & be their authentic selves, so it is a natural fit to be working in a place where that is encouraged, valued, and celebrated. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need administrative support or have questions about what we’re up to at Transitional Characters. And if you’re a values aligned organization that would like to collaborate, I’m just an email away.

Outside of work at TC & my van, I love to ride my motorcycle (1980 Honda CX500), visit the graphic novel section of the library, & eat chocolate chip cookies. I surround myself with friends who laugh loudly & are consistently working to create a better world.
